Climbing Fish Associates

Due to the amazing success of Climbing Fish we are now taking on associate tutors. Please do read the Bio's and see if you find a good fit, then contact us to see if we can support. All of the associate tutors are fully qualified teachers specialising in SEND and students who may have struggled with the mainstream system.

Toni Greenway

About me

I have been teaching for over 15 years and have had the privilege of working with children and young people across every stage of education, from nursery right through to sixth form. This breadth of experience has given me a deep understanding of how children learn and develop, allowing me to tailor my teaching to suit each individual’s needs and learning style.

Teaching has always been my passion. From a young age, I knew I wanted a career where I could inspire, support, and encourage others to reach their full potential. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child grow in confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach.

As both a teacher and a mum, I understand the importance of creating a nurturing, positive environment where children feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and enjoy learning. I believe every child has unique strengths, and I am committed to helping each one discover and develop their own personal potential.

Outside the classroom

Outside the classroom, I enjoy playing netball, spending quality time with my family, and exploring new places on holiday whenever I can. I also have a lifelong love of reading, with The Secret Garden and Oliver Twist remaining two of my all-time favourite books.

I look forward to helping your child build confidence, develop a love of learning, and achieve success in a way that is both enjoyable and rewarding.

                                                                                                                        Lia Purcell

I have over 13 years of teaching experience, working with children and young people from primary age through to A Level across a wide range of subjects. I also have extensive experience providing 1-to-1 tuition, supporting SEND learners with different abilities, needs and learning styles.

I believe every child learns differently, and I enjoy getting to know each learner and finding an approach that works for them. I personalise and adapt my lessons around their individual needs, interests and strengths, creating a bespoke learning experience that helps them develop both their skills and confidence.

As a teacher and a mum to three young children, I understand how important it is for children to feel comfortable, encouraged and supported. I want my pupils to feel proud of their progress, build confidence and enjoy their learning journey.

Outside the classroom

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling and exploring new places. I also volunteer at my children’s school and enjoy being involved in the wider school community. I’m naturally creative and enjoy bringing this into my work when it feels right for the learner.
