The journey of school can be such a lonely and complex one that so many young people are struggling.
Having a weekly wellbeing session can be just the solution. Research shows that having just 1 person who makes you feel heard or shows they understand can be vital in preventing mental health issues growing.

Having years worth of experience in schools as a Head of Year, SENDCo, Safeguarding lead and Inclusion coordinator I have worked with so many young people to help them through the challenges which present themselves. Including anxiety issues, self harm, transition concerns, bullying , SEMH, trauma, managing diagnosis such as ASC or ADHD, performance pressure , friendship issues , relationships.

The key to successful support is about relationships and the young person feeling safe working with an adult, especially if school has become an unsafe place - either physically or psychologically. This would be the priority for any initial sessions. Once a trust relationship has been established then the needs of the young person can be ascertained and a bespoke plan of support put in place.
